JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepare floor plans, site plans, and/or other drawings for small construction and minor alteration projects utilizing drafting techniques, equipment, and technology.
- Perform inspections of existing facilities to determine and verify structural details.
- Read and interpret original concept drawings and/or blueprints.
- Assist in cost estimates.
- Communicate with customers, salesmen, and contractors.
- Attend and participate in Bloedorns-sponsored training, when required.
- Perform other assigned duties, responsibilities, or tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Drafter must:
- Complete and pass a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background screen.
- Possess a certificate or diploma in drafting and design.
- Speak, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
- Interpret written, oral, diagrams, and schedule-form instructions.
- Calculate figures and amounts (i.e., discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc.).
- Utilize Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Drafters:
- Work in both an indoor and outdoor setting.
- Occasionally lift/move objects up to 50 pounds, stand, and walk.
- Regularly sit, use hands, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear.
